MP 20th Lennox Longboard Classic 2017, Report & Results.

Lennox Main Beach Classic 2017 Venue Sunday 13th Aug
The weekend of the 12th & 13th August. The MP 20th Lennox Longboard Classic 2017 was Held @ Lennox Main Beach. Over a weekend of Pristine weather Sun & plenty of it. Small Surf 1- 3ft, but on a up & coming high tide, Lining up those peelers for some Classic Longboarding
100 competitors fronted up covering 8 divisions. Standout longboarding came from Mike Pimm, (Fresh from the Australian Longboard Champs @ Cabarita the preceding week) 2nd in the Over 40’s & Winning the Over 60’s. Ambrey Damestoy Visiting from France, Styled in the Ladies, winning their final. Local Lad Scott Channon finally broke through for a win in the Open 9 ft. After patronizing this event since he was a junior. And Newcomer in the Old Mal / Loggers division  Myles Doughman from Coorabell, Showing all the traditional longboarding moves winning the Double loggers & the Noseriding award.
The Major Sponsor this Year was Mobile Plumbing Lennox Head with the naming rights & Ripcurl Ballina the other Major sponsor.
We thank all sponsors who came on board for the 20th year of this event.
Three Longboards went to new owners, winners over the weekend.
Amos Shapes longboard to Jason Shrieves, Ballina. Frank McWilliams longboard to Colin Small , Burleigh Heads & a Logger malibu from Free Flight (PhiMyers Lennox Head) to Dan Croskery of Palm Beach on the Goldy. Thankyou to all the shapers for the Longboards for this event.
Special Note always goes to the water safety crew from the Lennox surf lifesaving Club. 2 Days of keeping us all safe.
Proceeds from the event are forwarded to our benefiting Organisations as in the past. The Cancer Council NSW,  Disabled Surfing Association.
In summary it was a cracker weekend of Longboarding @ Lennox Head. Thanks to The Organising committee Grant, George & Greg & to all who participated to make it such a Cracker weekend.
