2024 Rip Curl Lennox Longboard “One Dayer”
Lennox Longboard Club is stoked to announce that along with the Lennox Wave and LJ Signs we are presenting the third running of the Rip Curl Lennox Longboard “One Dayer” being held on March 23rd at Main Beach Lennox Head, open to all longboard surfers with 5 divisions.
It’s fantastic that Tony Crump from Rip Curl Ballina has shown his support and belief inlongboard surfing and we are very grateful to have one of the iconic surfing companies sporting the “One Dayer” with products and giveaways for all competitors and officials. Thank you Tony.
This year, along with Open 9ft with 18 spots (for any ages), Over 40’s with 12 spots, Over 60’s with 18 spots, Ladies Open (for all ages), we have added a Ladies Over 40’s division with 12 spots available. All the first rounds of heats will be 20 minutes and finals 30 minutes. We have also added a Mystery Final where 6 surfers eliminated in the first round get another chance.
Apart from LJ Signs and the Lennox Wave. and in addition to Rip Curl, Ballina, we are also very grateful to our other great sponsors who have been supporting our longboard surfing events for many years including Lennox Head Surf, Cape Byron Distillery, Mobile Plumbing, Lennox Gelato & Coffee, Herron Todd White, Lennox Beach Resort, the Lennox Hotel, Inner Beauty Lennox Head, Seven Mile Brewing, Huey’s Choice Surf Wax, Pacific Longboard Magazine, The Bakery Lennox Head, Lennox Head Butchery & Deli, Woollam Constructions and Lennox Head Pizza & Pasta. Part of the structure of the “One Dayer” is to raise funds for local charitable groups such as the Cancer Council of NSW, Lennox Head Alstonville SLSC, The Disabled Surfers Assoc of NSW etc. Part of this is a major raffle with first prize a brand new 9’ Astro Surfboard, hand shaped by maestro Gary Burden with two other major prizes. Tickets will be available on Saturday March 16th at Lennox Gelato and Coffee and all day at the event. The comp presentation and raffle draw will be held at the Lennox Hotel at around 4.30pm after the “One Dayer”.
